walking out with more than endorphins

it's not the careful pacing of one worn boot in front of the other. it's not even the possibility of a destination somewhere. it's the icy air that flushes my cheeks. it's the sudden distance in the traffic noise when i turn into side streets and lanes. it's the weak light of winter sun. or the chrystal shine of a slim moon. it's the scent of fresh coffee and rising bread in the early morning. it's having the space to think and see. really see. and understand.

when walking out, whatever time of day or night, it is when i know myself best. i can hear myself. and appreciate others. so you see, it's not just the walking. that's not it. it's when i press pause and take a look around. you should try it. you might see something you like.
